Building reputation across global industrial markets
Industrial technology, process heating, electrification, process control & automation
The challenge
Watlow develops advanced electric thermal systems (heaters, sensors, controls, data management) for some of the world's most demanding industrial applications. Its technologies address challenges ranging from temperature accuracy and process reliability to energy efficiency, equipment maintenance and the electrification of industrial heating.
Communicating these capabilities requires an understanding of both the underlying engineering and the operational priorities of industrial customers. Technical audiences need more than product descriptions. They want to understand how technologies can address practical problems, improve performance and support investment decisions.
The challenge for BCM was to demonstrate Watlow's technical expertise across a diverse range of industrial markets, developing communications that would resonate with the specific engineering priorities of each sector. This required identifying relevant stories for specialist audiences while positioning Watlow within wider discussions around industrial electrification, automation, efficiency and operational performance.
Our approach
BCM Public Relations works with Watlow's technical and marketing teams to develop authoritative content for specialist industrial audiences.
A central part of the programme is identifying the engineering challenges behind Watlow's technologies and developing editorial content that addresses them. This means going beyond individual product features to explore subjects such as the transition from fossil-fuelled to electric process heating, the challenges of medium-voltage heating systems, the role of integrated power and temperature control, and the value of predictive maintenance.
Working directly with Watlow's technical specialists, BCM uses detailed engineering discussions and supporting material to develop articles, white papers and other communications that retain the technical depth expected by specialist readers while remaining accessible to a wider industrial audience.
An important part of the strategy is adapting technical subjects to the requirements of different industries. The priorities of a semiconductor manufacturer, for example, can be very different from those of a petrochemical refinery, a mining facility or a glass producer. Tailoring editorial themes to specific sectors has helped Watlow demonstrate relevant expertise where it matters most.
